On 28 July a group of exceptional guests visited Pioma-Foundry. This included 12-year old Oliwia Gotwald, for whom we ran in Laura’s team during the III Nocny Półmaraton Wielu Kultur [3rd Night Half Marathon of Many Cultures], her family as well as the volunteers and representatives of the “Nie ma czasu” foundation, as well as representatives of the organiser of the run.
Pioma-Foundry helped to spread the idea for combining a passion for sports with the readiness to help, and supported financially the whole charity campaign accompanying the half marathon. We transferred additional funds for each competitor who finished the run in Laura’s team; the funds will be devoted to the girl’s treatment and rehabilitation.
As an expression of gratitude for the commitment of Pioma Foundry and its employees to the campaign, Rafał Kania, president of the Management Board, received a gorgeous hand-made Frankie the Snail – the symbol of the “Nie ma czasu” foundation.
“Pioma-Foundry and its employees often work under difficult conditions. They are like our Frankie the Snail – tenacious, firm and persistent in pursuing their goals. We admire them for their sensibility, engagement and commitment to help a sick girl, for which we are sincerely thankful”, says Agnieszka Skalska, founder and president of the management board of the foundation.
The volunteers received heartfelt thanks from the foundation and our company; they were also invited to visit our foundry.
We are proud that our joint efforts brought about such a measurable outcome in the nature of financial resources, which will be used to help Oliwia fight her disease.
Oliwia, we’ve got your back!
